About Matra Doormats

Matra Doormats makes premium handwoven manila rope doormats in New Zealand.

Each Matra Door Mat is made from natural 12mm manila rope and woven using traditional nautical ropework techniques. The result is a heavy, durable rope mat designed to scrape dirt from shoes, sit firmly at the entrance, and add natural texture to the front door.

Matra was started in Rotorua by two brothers with an interest in practical design, natural materials, and long-lasting handmade products.

Unlike cheap synthetic or rubber-backed doormats that flatten, curl, trap moisture, or make an entrance look tired, the Matra Door Mat is built to feel substantial, functional, and quietly premium.

Our goal is simple: make the first thing people see at your home feel intentional.
